Home - Course Reports - MGP India celebrates its 5th Year Anniversary, empowers 14 people who stammer to get a voice this summer in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru is a very special place. That is where the McGuire India Programme started five years ago. This summer, we saw the largest course to date and lots of smiles on people’s faces.
14 individuals – a pair of teenage twins, 3 high school students, a college student, and 8 working professionals descended into Bengaluru from all over India to beat their stammers. Their only hope was to get the voice they never had.
To help them smash their stammers, graduates, coaches and instructors supported them from different cities in India and countries overseas – England, Ireland, Singapore, and the USA.
The new students diligently learned about the physical and psychological aspects of stammering and how to attack their stammers using different weapons to get better control of their speech. Each one of them stayed true to their promise, worked hard and followed directions. The result of their hard work and perseverance was evident.
One of the recent graduates commented:
The McGuire Programme has given me a voice.
Another recent graduate said:
The Programme offers the right tools and techniques to transform your life in an amazing way.
A returning graduate said:
The support is unparalleled. It’s a life changing experience.
It was very satisfying to hear this and this is exactly what the McGuire Programme is all about. McGuire is the #1 Programme in the world that empowers PWS to take control of their speech and help them achieve a better quality of life. There is no other Programme out there that brings PWS together the way the MGP does!
Bengaluru 2019 course in numbers:
Coincidentally, just as the BLR19 course concluded, heavy rain began to pour down from the skies of Bengaluru. In Indian tradition, this is perceived as a blessing from the Gods. What a way to end this special course and celebrate MGP India’s 5th year anniversary.
MGP India wouldn’t be where it is today if not for the trust that Dave McGuire put in me and the unconditional support from incredible instructors & coaches since its inception in 2014. Special thanks to Course instructor James Caplan who poured all of his time, passion, energy and love for the region into making BLR19 an incredible course. Thanks to the amazing a) graduates and coaches that attended the BLR19 course and served as role models, b) coaches that participated in the telephone session and c) coaches that continue to motivate and drive the new graduates.
Here is a video that summarizes the Bengaluru course.
For those of you interested in attending a session in India, our next course is scheduled from December 11th – 15th 2019 in New Delhi.
Wishing you all a smashing success speech wise and otherwise in the 2nd half of 2019!
Sincerely,
Kaushik Valluri
